Denver Dog Trainer, Dion Studinski
When a dog trainer didn’t produce results with Dion’s working dog, he didn't give up. He connected with the president of the High Plains Schutzhund Club in Elizabeth, CO, a training club which specializes in “martial arts for dogs.” Dion was enamored with their philosophy, their style of training and, most importantly, their results. He currently volunteers part-time as an assistant to the club. Mentoring under some of the top dog trainers in the U.S. has been invaluable in his work with his Ancillary K9 clients.

Mentored under top dog trainers in the U.S.Voted one of Denver’s top dog trainers in 2018, Dion has had dogs in his life since childhood. He grew up on a lake near Chisholm, Minnesota, with a German Shepherd at his side. Chisholm is at the heart of Minnesota's Iron Range — a fact the once semi professional drummer recalls with pride. Dion studied entrepreneurship and graphic design in college, earning a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of North Dakota.

Problem dogs are Dion’s specialty.Dion has great success with obedience work and aggressive dog rehabilitation. Because he knows how to train dogs to react appropriately in situations involving protection, he understands how to break aggressive habits in a family pet. He’s able to fix—or prevent—challenging problems that other trainers won’t touch. He’s eclectic in his approach; he uses whatever tools are necessary to correct the behavior, including positive reinforcement and corrections when appropriate. Dion starts every pet/owner/trainer relationship with the goal of correcting the issues that are preventing you from enjoying your pet. Eighty percent of his work involves teaching you, the dog owner, how to apply the techniques that get results.

He’s keen on remote places.Dion has lived in Colorado since 2010, landing here after a Google search for “best places to live.” He spent a year in Fort Collins, before moving to Denver, as Denver would turn out to be the ideal place for his business ventures. Dion loves to explore abandoned gold mines, and he’s apt to strike out on his own to discover an off-trail adventure—the hallmark of a man who describes himself as a serial entrepreneur. Dion looks forward to solving whatever problems your dog presents. He’s confident he can make a difference in your dog’s behavior and in the quality of your life.
